The Arizona Sonora Desert Museum is outdoors and is the 8th-best zoo in the country and also has a botanical garden. It only has plants and animals from the Sonoran Desert. It’s Tucson’s #1 attraction, a “must-see” for sure. There are also Old Tucson Studios (where they have reenactments and many great westerns were made). On the way, you can also stop at the Saguaro National Park’s Visitor’s Center. The Tucson Museum of Art, Diana Maderas Gallery, and DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun are great for art lovers. If you’re interested in history, the Arizona History Museum and the Arizona State Museum are both right on the University of Arizona Campus. There are also lots of great places within a 2-hour drive such as Kitt Peak, Mount Lemmon, Sonoita’s vineyards, Tubac, and Oracle.
